How to emit particles from an object

- Particles are definitely one of Houdini's strengths. Recently the particle system and the dynamics system were combined to create a pretty powerful environment where all these things can interact with each other. This rabbit hole goes pretty deep, and the levels of complexity get pretty big, pretty fast. But we're gonna start out really basically, I'm going to show you how to create an object, and how to get particles emitting off of that really easily. So the first thing we'll do, is let's create a torus, and drop that in the middle of the scene here. A torus is good also for particle experiments because it has surfaces pointing in all these different directions, and when particle emit off of them, it's not as if it's all just coming off from the same place. To get particles emitting off of this torus, it's really simple. We're gonna go to our second little shelf group over here, click on the Particles tab, and the third icon says Source Particle Emitter. I'm gonna click on that…
