Creating velocity attribute on objects

- [Instructor] As we start to look at how to use some particle features of Houdini, one important thing is to understand how to create and view velocity on our objects because both with particle and fluid simulations, often we really want to have those emit from objects that are moving in certain directions, and so the way we can control this in our simulations is by creating velocity attributes on objects, which I'm going to show you now. So here we've got our rings, and this just the thing we had animated earlier in the course. Very simple animation, just these rings moving around, and this is a good way to illustrate how we create velocity. So I'm going to go into these rings, and this is very simple. After this transform2 node, I'm going to right click, I'm going to type trail. And click on that, I'm going to bring up its parameters window, and you can see that there's a number of different things that the trail node does. What we want is we just want to say compute velocity. So…
