- [Instructor] After you start a new project…you end up here, on the Edit screen.…What I have here is the default layout.…As with any creative software,…the emptiness and the sheer expansive gray…can feel a bit intimidating at first.…Not to mention all these unfamiliar buttons…that you don't yet recognize.…The screen is separated into multiple panels.…Each panel has a specific job.…Some you use every time you work on a project,…while others have more specialist purposes,…so it's easier to see what the panels are for.…
I'm gonna load up a prepared project…so that you can see the interface actually in action.…You can do the same if you want.…Simply head up to the File menu and choose Open.…Navigate to the downloaded Exercise files…and you'll find a project called Completed Project.…Select it to load it into HitFilm.…It'll take a moment to appear,…and then you'll end up with something like this.…It all looks rather more exciting now,…not to mention, more colorful.…This is more representative of what the software…will usually look like when you're working on something.…
