Slip and slide
- I'm covering both the slip tool and the slide tool in this video, because they're superficially similar. And it's easy to get them confused. They're also great examples of how using the right editing tool can save you a huge amount of time. Let's take a look at slip first. To demonstrate this effectively, I'm going to set up a simple timeline with a small number of trimmed clips. Try following along so you can give it a try too. It doesn't matter which specific clips you use, I've just got a random selection here to use as an example. First I'll select a clip and use the trimmer to select a section from it, setting the in-point and the out-point to remove unnecessary bits from the start and the end. I'll insert this onto the timeline, then I'll select a second clip in the media panel. For this clip, I'm gonna set my in-point at around the two second mark and my out-point at about the four second mark, that creates a trimmed portion with the duration overall of two seconds.
