Slice
- [Instructor] The slice tool is used to cut clips into two once they're already on the timeline. Once you've activated the tool, clicking anywhere on the clip or slice it at that specified frame, the resulting two clips will then behave as entirely separate clips from that point onwards and can be moved and trimmed independently. Note that clips containing linked audio and video will be sliced as one, so that both elements always remain in sync. When you have snapping turned on, slicing near to the playhead will snap the slice to that precise frame. This can be very useful. You're able to find a specific frame with the playhead and then slice it with confidence. When the slice tool is active, you can't perform any other type of editing action. If you try to move a clip, for example, you'll find yourself accidentally slicing it instead. Therefore, it tends to be a tool that you'll switch to for a brief moment before then switching back to one of the other more commonly used tools like…
