Roll - HitFilm Express Tutorial

Roll
- [Instructor] The last of the core editing tools is the Roll edit tool. This is simpler than some of the ones we've already covered, but it's no less useful. Using the Roll tool on the join between two clips will simultaneously adjust the out point of the first clip and the in point of the second clip. This saves you having to adjust both separately with the Select tool. As with the other tools, the viewer shows you a preview of the new out and in points so that you can see where your cut is falling and what exactly is happening. This is especially useful if you've got two shots that are edited together with some kind of direct continuity. For example, a character walking through a door. Rolling the edit left and right allows you to fine tune exactly where the cut occurs on that synchronized action.
