- [Narrator] During editing, and especially after you've assembled your initial rough cut, you're likely to want to trim the start and end points of clips to tighten things up. Doing this with the select tool will result in gaps appearing in-between clips, which will then appear as black frames. So here you can see me adjusting the outpoint of this clip, so that the clip ends sooner. This then leaves a gap between it and the following clip. There are a couple of ways to fix this, I could move the endpoint of the following clip, extending its overall duration, but perhaps I don't want to change the timings for that one. Alternatively, I could just move the clip over to plug the gap, but then that just leaves another gap on the other side. A better option by far is to actually right-click on the gap itself and choose ripple delete from the menu. This removes the gap by moving everything that is to the right of the gap over to the left by however much is needed to close the gap. The…
