Exercise 3: Making it look good
- [Instructor] Now that you know how to add effects and perform adjustments to the look of your clips, try going through your edited project to improve its overall appearance. If you're using the exercise files, be sure to go through and color correct those close-up shots of Madame Donut. After that, experiment with creating different looks to see what works best for the subject matter. Bear in mind that you can probably have a lot of fun with those close-ups of the donuts. My main tip for color grading, especially once you get beyond correction and into the realm of creating a stylized look, is that less is always more. Adjust your grade until you think it looks great, and then probably dial it down by about a third. Remember that when your audience sees your grade for the first time, it will probably seem more extreme than it does to you because you're looking at it every day.
