Exercise 2: The soundtrack
- [Instructor] Now that you know how to layer up and mix audio on the editor timeline, this exercise is all about audio. Take the project you worked on in exercise one and consider how its soundtrack can be improved, both aesthetically and in terms of the overall quality of the mix. If you're working with the exercise files, you probably have a mix of interview dialogue and background sounds from the Beauty Shops and B Roll clips. Now's the time to make sure that the audio is mixed correctly. Take the sample music or use your own to make the video even more lively. The key things to observe are that you're audio is not peaking and going into the red and that it's not too quiet either. Aim for it to peak just below the zero decibels point and hover around the minus two to minus four mark.
