Strengthen an argument technique

- [Voiceover] Many GRE logic questions will pertain to an argument made by an author. For questions in the strengthen an argument category, you have to pick a choice that, if true, would make the argument more defendable. So in this video, I'll explain how to work with this type of question. So here we have an example of an argument, so go ahead and read it if you haven't already, and notice the question is asking us which of the following, if true, would strengthen the argument. So we immediately know it's a logic question of this type. Pretty obvious. So let's think about it. What is the argument? Let's go through how we would handle this question. Let's say we read it for the main idea and we get a sense that something is making the asteroids align, and then we pretty quickly get that the first sentence is the argument. It's the planet that we haven't discovered yet doing this. So I'd paraphrase the argument maybe like the planet is aligning them. And I think, for me, that kind of…
