- The next type of grammar question you'll run in to on the SAT is the identifying sentence errors question. In this video, I'll take you through an example to explain how this type of question works. So, I'll read you the example on the screen. "After weathering a civil war and a recession, "the government finally felt ready "to accomplish some of the goals they had outlined "in last year's planning sessions." So, you can see that there's four underlined portions of the sentence, A through D and then the fifth underlined thing on the screen is the option E, "No error." So, the technique for this type of question, just like the improving sentences type of question, is to first read the sentence moving your lips to make sure you read slowly enough to catch any obvious mistakes. So, if you look at the sentence, you may see the choice C is the error. In other words, choice C is the correct choice to pick. This is because the pronoun "they" is being made to refer to the singular noun…
