Integers: Even and odd and primes
- [Voiceover] In this video I'll talk about some properties of integers like evens, odds and primes. So, evens and odds are pretty simple. But just want to make sure you remember them. Even numbers are divisible by two. So like two, four, 100, etc. Also good to know that zero is even. Odd numbers are not divisible by two. So these are integers like one, three, five, etc. So it is an odd integer if you cannot divide it evenly by two. Prime numbers are special numbers. These are positive numbers that only have two factors. So, two is the smallest prime number. One is not prime cause one only has one factor. Two has two factors, right? Two and one. The next prime number is three, again only two factors. From there we have five, seven, 11, 13, 17... Good to know actually a few prime numbers, maybe the first ten or so would be good for you to know off hand. And prime numbers do come in handy sometimes. If we factor a number into it's primes, sometimes that can be useful in GRE problems…
