Establishing project constraints

Every training project has a few constraints. It might be a limited budget or less time than we'd like to have. Logistics are often a challenge such as an audience that is located in many different places. Whatever the constraints, it's good to identify them sooner rather than later. This process starts in our initial meeting with the project sponsor, but we may uncover additional constraints as we conduct our analysis. We can often come up with creative solutions to achieve project goals if we can identify these constraints early on. I remember a time when I had to train 100 employees to use a new piece of equipment. They had to already know how to use the equipment the day it was installed but that constraint posed a big problem. How was I going to train them ahead of time if the equipment wasn't installed yet?
