Coordinate geometry

- [Voiceover] So coordinate geometry is what we use to talk about what we call the coordinate plane. The coordinate plane is the x-axis which is horizontal and the y-axis which is vertical. And they intersect and they form the coordinate plane. So, the coordinate plane we can draw graphs and lines on even parabolas and different shapes. Just a few things to notice about it. The intersection of the X and Y axis is the origin that's also the point (0,0). And the coordinate plane is divided up into quadrants. This is quadrant one. This is quadrant two. This is quadrant three and down here is quadrant four. So just something to know you might get asked about those. And then generally when we deal with the simplest form of designating something in the coordinate plane is a point. So, let's say I have the point (3,2). (3,2) is right about there.
