You do not need to use the latest version of this library. The element variable points to an anonymous function which is simply a shortcut for the document.getElementById method and there is a few functions for testing if certain HTML5 application technologies are available. Display error and status message are for displaying certain types of messages on HTML5 pages and the bwTable class is for creating objects that manipulate tables.
This is not actually used in this course, but it is used in a number of my other courses for displaying and manipulating and working with tabular information. I'm scrolling through this slowly so you have an opportunity to copy it down if you need to do that and as always, with any of my code, feel free to copy this library and modify it for your own use in your own projects.
