- The first thing most people worry about when it comes to looking for a job is the dreaded resume, so let's get right to that. I have some very strong opinions on resumes, which I will share, but please bear in mind, there is nothing better than breaking the rules successfully including the rules I'm going to tell you right now. I don't want to discourage any great new ways to handle your resume. Just keep in mind, this is a design project that has a very specific purpose, so try not to let your big idea interfere with the objective of this very specific project. Okay, that caveat aside, here are the rules I recommend. Your resume should fit on one page. Think of it as a design challenge and an editorial one. The purpose is to share basic information about yourself so we, potential employers, can quickly get a sense of who you are. You may be thinking, "But I'm emailing it.
