Understanding Adobe application font folders
- [Instructor] Adobe's Creative Cloud and Creative Suite applications used to come with a lot of fonts that you could install along with the applications on your computer. Nowadays, those fonts are, for the most part, available only through Adobe's Typekit service. So, let's take a look at the current way of installing fonts for Adobe applications as well as which other folders on your computer can be used to store fonts for use in Adobe apps. As of the 2014 release of Creative Cloud, fonts are not installed with most applications. So if you install a program like Photoshop and then you look in the font menus, you're only gonna see the fonts that you had previously installed. Now, this is a big change from the past when there was a large set of fonts that were installed with the Creative Suite applications. If you install InDesign CC 2014, you'll get a very small set of fonts that the application needs just to run properly, like Minion Pro Regular, a basic family of Myriad Pro fonts…
