- Let's do a recap of what we've covered so far in this course. First of all, we had you evaluate your current career situation, and whether you need a change. You've explored various new opportunities, both, within your company and externally. And hopefully you've thought about your career goals specifically, and what obstacles you may face. Now, it's time to establish your next steps. It's easy to give yourself a goal. The difficult part is sticking to it. Steven Covey once said, "Begin with the end in mind." And I would say that applies as well to your career goals that you've set out for yourself. We all have goals that may, at times, seem a bit lofty: I'm going to get that promotion, I'm going to run a marathon, I'm going to save money to save a house. So those are very common, typical, lofty goals. Think about last year's New Year's Resolution that you made. Were you successful? Did you have a plan for it?
