- If you're putting together a spice jar or a beverage mockup or something that requires plastic or a glass vessel to apply your label design to, you're going to need to be part designer and part researcher. Let's say, for instance, I didn't like the size of this spice jar or its shape, maybe I want it to be glass with a metal top. Whatever I choose for my design is my choice. But if I'm going to make a 3D mockup of it, I'd better go out and find an existing product that has the vessel design that I like. Whether I go to the grocery store, the drugstore, or find something online, I have to settle on something that I'm happy with that I can use for my mockup. Now you may be thinking, hey, Todd, what if you dream up a structure design that doesn't exist? Well, I'll tell you, there's a couple of ways to go about this and some of them can be expensive, and others just require some good research.
