- Okay, social media is big of course and everyone knows to be careful about what they post, but now that you're looking for a job, you have to look at what you post differently and what you have posted in the past. You have a good resume and a good portfolio, but a quick Google image search or Facebook search shows you out drinking every night. There's nothing wrong with being out drinking every night, but it might make a prospective employer hesitate a bit or maybe every time you tweet, you curse. I curse all the time, but not when I tweet. Okay, sometimes I do. But and that's not a deal breaker, but it may make someone who doesn't know you consider your level of anger management. I propose googling yourself 'cause we do that immediately. See what comes up for a stranger and decide if that's the image you want to promote. If it isn't, change it. You can always have an alternate Instagram account for your friends. But we can't unsee some images once we've seen them. On the other…
