Sizing and dimensions

Sizing and dimensions

- [Instructor] Once you're ready to design your next T-shirt your first question might be, what size should I create the artwork? It's a good idea to think about who the T-shirt is for. If you're designing for an adult, you should create larger artwork than you would for say a toddler. 10 inches wide is most common for an adult shirt chest print, whereas when designing for women or youth, you can start with a file that is six to eight inches wide. Another common question is should I change the size of the design for each size of shirt? The answer is no. If you have four or fewer garments like small, medium, large, then keep the design at once size. If you have five or more sizes like kids, adults, and plus sizes, then maybe it's a good time to consider adding a design size provided that your budget allows. And remember to keep the artwork at least half an inch away from any seams.
