- There is no I in team, especially when it comes to team schedules. But there are rules to this game, so let's talk about them. One of my favorite leadership traits is reinforcing things that may seem obvious, but need constant reminding. In other words, the ability to find the reality that everyone is operating in. Or to say it differently, make sure all involved know the details, and what is at stake from a project, timing, budget and client standpoint. This couldn't be truer when it comes to scheduling. The rules to the scheduling game are many, but some basic ones should be agreed upon and made clear to all involved. Here are the main non-negotiables that should be understood. Rule number one: Remember that you are serving others, not yourself. Make sure everyone on your team understands the built-in realities of your business. Most creative agencies are service businesses. As a service business, to put it simply, you are there to serve the client, not the other way around. And…
