- If you are looking for more challenging and interesting work, sometimes you need to be proactive. There's a saying that I have chosen to live by that comes from a very famous philosopher. If you've ever seen the movie Robots, there is the factory owner named Bigweld, and he says, "See a need, fill a need." And I truly believe, both from personal experience but others that I've seen, that if you identify a need of an organization, and you insert yourself in the process, it can help you to move your career forward. It demonstrates leadership skills and initiative. It also demonstrates that you have an eagerness to expand the business opportunities and contribute in a bigger way to your current organization. It also demonstrates that you may have a passion for the business, and a desire to develop your design career. How can you find a need? First of all, always keep your eyes open for ways to improve processes, and, or, pursue new opportunities to grow your business. As an example…
