- [Instructor] The structure of your eBook is an important part of your QA process because it's not uncommon for this part of the eBook to be ignored or not fleshed out well by conversion processes. Let's start first with the table of contents. The main table of contents in an ePub file is called the NavDoc. This table of contents is not only displayed to the reader visually within the flow of the book, where you would expect it to show up in the print book, it is also displayed as a structural table of contents in a menu. To perform both of these functions, the NavDoc must be structured in an ordered list within the HTML code. This ordered list is then changed with some CSS to display as the regular paragraphs within the book. But the structure of the list is used in the menus. So one thing you should check for is to ensure that the table of contents does not display as a list in the eBook.
