- Jessica Hische has a great term she calls, "procrasti-working," it's the work you're doing when you're not doing the work you should be doing. It gets its name because it's productive. You're exploring, you're experimenting, working. De-constructing something, trying out this design or idea or technique, I mean, how else do you learn? I'm going to say it's where I've learned most of my craft. I have an example, I came across this album cover from the early 1980s, a 12 inch vinyl, a great, old format. The square, of course, is used everywhere today. For those who don't know, Alcione Nazareth is a samba singer, Brazilian, popular one. Vibrant career, 19 gold records, platinums, double platinum, all that. Her singing, her stage presence has life and soul and depth. You might YouTube her, but this design conveys none of that.
