- My research shows that the long, linear, stable career is a thing of the past because millennials have been constantly reinventing themselves and all the rules. To boomers and gen-Xers, the forecast sounds pretty grim, but for a millennial, it's a time of opportunity for those prepared to embrace change. And by mastering technology and innovation, the cost of their investment and possible failure decreases. Creative nomads can destabilize, then turn around and reenergize businesses quickly. This is especially common in the creative design industries. Because of the increasing importance of branding over the past decade, design has moved up its place in the food chain. Every surface is now real estate for storytelling, messaging, marketing, and connecting. Millennial creatives will become the curators of these fluid and changing spaces, absorbing information and integrating it.
