Line considerations
- When developing packaging for a client, one thing is for certain. You'll be packaging multiple products versus a single product at some point in your design career. With consumer goods, for example, you'll have to anticipate that your design will need to accommodate a product line and accessories with multiple pieces of information to organize. The products may come in all sizes and shapes, or they may come in one particular form. For example, a liquid hand soap may incorporate linking design elements like the bottle shape, product colors, or graphics, which make up a brand identity that will highlight the differences in each product within the line and still link them all together. It's important to set up an identity system by choosing the packaging formats and clearly defining the hierarchy of the information.
