Layout considerations
- When designing your packaging you'll have to think about all the sides of the packaging that your customer will come in contact with. If it's a box, then you'll have the front, called the PDP or principal display panel. Sides, back, bottom, top and some instances the inside to tell your story. Different forms, shapes or structures will have challenges in telling this story and applying information. However, if from the beginning of your sketch and development phase, you've considered how to tell the story and the amount of info needed with your client, then you've solved one of the biggest aspects of how you will use this layout to deliver the message about the product. In developing the layout for the PDP, there are cues and clues that help your customer navigate through the information and avoid confusion at marketplace.
