- Time to build some actual covers. I'd like to begin with the peristyle construction that we ended the previous movie with. Just drop an image on the page, keeping that narrow left column. Again, here I'm looking for that constructed mortar side of this project. The differentiation here is not created with a color sidebar, but with a color photograph. This is a full bleed approach to a cover, which is classic magazine. Because Leaf&Mortar is not going on the newsstand, it's going to a known, just mailing directly to a known audience, we do not need to use newsstand style design, which opens up all kinds of interesting and beautiful design possibilities. A second full bleed approach is a more classic magazine style and that's with a person looking at us. Just set her on the page, what happens here is we have some conflict between the picture and the background. The name Mortar obviously has just disappeared.
