How to present yourself

- A big question on everyone's mind is what to wear to your interview. I've heard people say you should dress like the people who work their dress, but I think that's old-fashioned. I have a different idea. I call it the grandparent's birthday rule. Dress as you would for your grandparent's birthday party or some similar occasion. It's not a wedding, and it's not a funeral, and it's not a night in a bar with friends, but it's a happy event where you take effort to look good, but also to look like yourself, possibly a slightly conservative version of yourself. The way you dress is another opportunity to express who you really are and how you're comfortable presenting yourself to the world. You wouldn't wear your shortest dress to your grandmother's birthday party, so don't wear it to your interview.
