How to present your work

- Earlier, a long time ago, we discussed how to show your work in an email. Showing your work in person requires slightly different consideration. As always, it depends on the type of work you're showing, but for now let's assume you have a variety of kinds of projects. First and most important, bring a printed version of your resume. It's helpful to me to reread it with you there so I can ask you questions. I may have read it weeks ago, and I may not remember anything about it. So please bring me a copy, and if you have a physical portfolio, bring it. If you don't have a physical portfolio, which is fine, bring your own laptop or iPad, or something. You need to be able to drive. Someone showed up for an interview once with nothing. She said she figured she could use my computer. Not only was my desk and desktop covered with confidential material, I don't have a second chair behind my desk. Needless to say it didn't go well.
