- [Instructor] Google Play Books does not have a specification per se, but there are some recommendations and details available in the help section at the Google Books site. Here are a few recommendations to consider. Every Epub file you sell through Google Play Books must pass EpubCheck. I always recommend ensuring your books pass EpubCheck anyway so this should not be a problem. I always recommend that you include the landmark section in your table of contents nav.file with links to the cover, table of contents, and start location of your book. Google, however, does not currently support the landmark section, so you'll need to also include the older guide section in your OPF file with the same links. Be sure to use the type, text, for your starting location. The Google Play Books apps do have support for fixed layout eBooks, and the same ePub files you create for Apple and Kobo should work fine in Google as well.
