Developing an illustration style

- [Instructor] In Chapter Two, we discussed how to brainstorm a creative direction for your campaign. A big key of that was to develop three high level styles to get feedback from your client before honing that style. Oftentimes, clients provide the most feedback on the illustration style above all else. This is because it's far easier to visualize how things will look and feel when seeing an illustration than it is when just seeing fonts and colors. When we showed the NEA our three initial idea, their feedback helped us realize that they were really looking for a combination of the styles. This led us to develop the following style. You'll notice that one of the unifying factors in all three initial ideas was to keep each character ambiguous. This was very intentional. With such a broad audience, and a goal of showing the NEA's focus on diversity, we knew that we had to make most of the content character driven.
