Designing a business card for a photographer

- Hi everyone, John McWade. I've been asked more than once how to design a business card. It seems simple, it's such a small space, but it can be really easy to get hung up. I got a note from Jayne Kettner. She's a photographer who was designing a logo for a class she was taking and her efforts weren't getting her anywhere. This is common. It happens when the goal is unclear or even incorrect. What's funny is she doesn't need a logo at all, we're just going to put her photos right on the card, they're beautiful, and what's cool is that the reader will get to experience the real thing rather than just see a funky logo. So here's how you do it, it's really easy. Here's the card, in the upper left corner in one clear typeface, in one size, set your name and all your contact information in one block. Hard to get simpler than that. The only differentiator I have here is that the name is bold and if we're using a serif face you may not even need that. Add a line of type between the name and…
