- [Instructor] With the incredible popularity of smartphones and devices like the iPad, it's no surprise that there's a mobile app you can use to create your own fonts just about anywhere. It's called iFontMaker, and it allows you to draw the letter shapes freehand by tracing over various templates or you can use a pen tool to draw Bezier curves like in high-end font creation programs. It also offers a compose mode where you can type text with your new font to see how it looks. When you finish building the font, you can download the font in true type format and use it anywhere. In the Gallery section of the iFontMaker website, you can see some of the other fonts users have made and download them. iFontMaker currently costs $8 and is available for both iPad and Windows 8 through 10. Unfortunately, there's no app with similar features for Android mobile devices at this time. There are some font creation apps for that platform, but they're very limited in what they can produce.
