- Compared to other fields, many creative professionals choose to start their own business at some point in their career. Individuals may crave freedom of choosing their own projects. Self-employment tends to come in three different forms for creatives. Number one, freelancing or building your own freelance business. Second of all, possibility of working with a staffing agency or a consulting firm. And third, running a full-fledged business. If you're thinking of going out on your own, you may want to consider those three options. But many will also include a blend of those scenarios.
