Best practices for manual font organization on a Mac
- [Instructor] While a third-party solution is often best for someone working with a lot of fonts on a Mac, many users can and do get by without any extra tools, just by staying organized and following a few key steps. So, let's take a look at some of the best practices for working with fonts on a Mac. The first tip is to make sure your Mac is running the latest version of macOS. Use the software update feature in the Apple menu to run any available system updates. This way you can be sure that you have all the bug fixes that Apple has issued, including any related to fonts. Second, in addition to updating your system, you can benefit from updating your fonts as well. If possible, replace old TrueType and PostScript Type 1 fonts with modern OpenType versions to take full advantage of that file format. And while you're at it, get rid of fonts that you know you'll never use. Just back them up somewhere besides your active system where they would take up space and resources better used…
