- [Instructor] It's helpful to know…that any gradients in your design…will appear in dot form…which is called a half tone.…The luminans values in your design…will be visually represented…by a sea of tiny dots.…From a distance, your eyes won't see the dots,…they'll all blend in together…but when you look up close…you'll clearly see them.…So, if you don't like the dots look…you may want to take it easy on the gradients.…Another handy tip when designing for t-shirts…is to keep it simple, your artwork I mean.…Simple doesn't mean plain,…sometimes less is more.…
Think of it this way,…if your design is clean and simple,…it'll be easier to produce…so your costs will be lower…and as an added bonus you'll be able…to print your design on a variety…of surfaces beyond t-shirts.…Another insider tip…is to make sure you have conversations with your printer.…Research some a bit.…Ask for samples of prints they're proud of.…Ask them about their print methods,…their preferred file formats…and get professional advice…on how to achieve a similar technique…
