- [Corey] Hi, I'm Corey Koberg, and welcome to the essentials course for Google Tag Manager. Google Tag Manager, often known as GTM, has experienced exponential growth because it can do wonders to streamline and simplify what has become a very complex and code-heavy landscape. The goal of this course is to get you up and running in a short amount of time, but, make no mistake, this tool is powerful. It can be brought to bear for sophisticated, code-heavy situations. One of the reasons that good GTM info is so hard to find is that so much of it depends on specifically how your site was coded and the details of your site configuration.
Now, counter that, we're gonna show you some of the most common or generic examples. For example, as a CMS, we'll use WordPress because it's basic and widely adopted. In this course, we'll stick to a web-based environment as the mobile version of GTM is a different animal entirely, and it addresses a different audience. So, this course is all about giving the essentials you need for a solid foundation. So, let's dive in.
