- [Instructor] Using cell references, which include the cells contents and their formula, gives you the flexibility to change your formulas output by changing the values in its input cells. In this movie, I'll go into detail about what happens when you copy those formulas, and show you how to manage what changes and what doesn't by using relative and absolute references. This workbook contains a single worksheet and on it I want to calculate the amount that an investment will be worth in future years based on an annual growth rate of 7%. So the idea is that I want to have the value grow by 7% for 2018, then 2019 and all the way down to 2026. To create that formula, I'll click in cell B3, then type and equals sign. And what I want to do is multiply the value in B2, which is my starting investment, by one plus the growth rate which is in B1, then type a right parentheses. So again what I'm doing is I am taking the value in B2, which is my current investment, and I'm multiplying it by…
