Round values up or down

- [Instructor] You have probably rounded values up quite a few times in your life. At a restaurant, you can round a bill up to the nearest $10.00 increment and tell the server to keep the change, or describe the cost of a new building as about 10 million dollars, even though the price is a little higher or lower. Sheets has several functions you can use to round off worksheet values, and you should become familiar with them so you can determine which is the best function for your particular task. I'll start by using the most straight-forward of the functions and that is "round." "Round" will round a value either up or down, and the rule that is uses is any value that is .5 or greater will be rounded up and any value less than .5 will be rounded down. So for example, in cell A2, I have the value 12.875. If I want to round that value, I can type in equal sign, and then use the round function followed by a left parentheses and I need to enter two bits in information. The first is the…
