- [Instructor] In the previous movie, I showed you how to find a value from a data collection using a VLOOKUP. In this movie, I'll show you how to use a slightly more complicated but much more flexible method to look up values. And the first thing I'll do is show you how to replicate the VLOOKUP functionality which is where you use a value that is in the left most column of your lookup range. So lookup values in the same row and other columns. And then I'll show you how to extend its functionality and avoid a very easy to make error. I want to look up customer name based on customer ID. So I have my customer ID currently in cell F2. One thing I'll note is that I have created a number of named ranges based on the columns in my dataset. So if I go to the data menu and click Named ranges, you'll see that I have customer country, customer ID, and customer name. And each of those corresponds as I said to a column in my dataset. It just makes it easier to track the formulas as I'm creating…
