Multiply two arrays

- [Narrator] One spreadsheet convention for managing data is to have a list of items ordered in one part of the worksheet and the items' prices in another part. Rather than multiply all those individual values together, I'll show you how to calculate the total sum using the sum product function. This worksheet has two sets of data and they are related. On the left side we have orders by level for different plans. I'm assuming that this is a subscription plan for a business of some kind. We can see that we sold 21 one-year bronze plans, 60 silver for one year, and so on throughout the rest of the array. Look over to the right and we'll see the prices for each of those plans. The one-year bronze plan is 45. If we want to go all the way to the 10-year platinum plan, that would be $1,000. Rather than create a series of formulas or perhaps one very long formula, to multiply orders by prices we can use a single function called the sum product.
