Look up a value in a range

- When you collect data in a Google Sheets Workbook, you can look up values in a list, as long as your data is laid out correctly. In this movie I will show you how to combine Worksheet layout and a formula to look up values in a data range. This Workbook contains a short list of Customer ID's followed by the associated Customer Name and Customer Country. What I'd like to do is to enter in a Customer ID, which might appear on an order form, and be able to look up the Customer Name. To do that, I will use the VLookup function, I click in cell F3 to activate it, and then type an = sign and the function I'll use as you probably guessed is Vlookup. Now, I need to enter in my search key. The search key is the cell that contains the value that I want to look up. So, I'll click cell F2. I don't have a value there yet, but I will soon. Then, a comma, then the range. The range is the set of cells that contains the data that I am going to be using to look up. The Lookup starts with the left…
