- [Instructor] Spreadsheet edits and updates change your data, so it's important to track when those changes occur. If the day and time of a change matters to your business, you can use the now and today functions to enter those values into your worksheet. I have two headers here, Current Date and Time and Today's Date. I'll click in cell A2, and let's say that I want to put in both the current date and the time. The function I'll use for that is now. So in cell A2 I'll type equal now followed by and open and close set of parentheses. I see my preview value there, so I'll type Enter, and the result comes up. So now you know that I am recording this movie on November 1, 2017 at 10:33pm and, as it turns out, 22 seconds. If you only need the current date, then you can use the function today. So I'll click in cell A5, type an equal sign, and type today followed by an empty pair of parentheses and Enter, and I get today's date. The problem with using these formulas is that the functions…
