- [Narrator] When you compare two columns of data you can summarize them in many different ways. In this movie, I will show you three formulas that are used in statistical analysis. The three functions that I'm going to discuss are SUMXMY2, and what that means is that we're looking at the squared difference between the values in two columns. So it's the X minus Y, squared, calculation. Next we have sum of X squared plus Y squared, so we are squaring the value in A4 and adding it to the square of the value in B4 and squaring that entire total. And then we're doing the same thing, except instead of adding X squared and Y squared, we're subtracting them, and then taking the sum of all those values. And again, the statistics of these measurements are beyond the scope of this course. But if you find yourself needing to do these calculations in Sheets, this is how you do them.
