Calculate duration - Google Sheets Tutorial

Calculate duration
- [Instructor] Many calculations ask about how long something lasted. Whether that's the days between an order and its delivery, the length of a project, or a period of interest. In this movie I'll show you several ways to calculate durations in Google Sheets. This workbook contains a single worksheet and on it I have Start and End Dates for a series of projects. I'd like to perform a number of calculations to analyze the duration of each of these projects. To discover the number of calendar days between two dates I can use the Days function. So I will click in cell C2 and then type an equal sign and the function is days, D-A-Y-S. Type a left parentheses. And I see from formula auto-complete that I have the end_date followed by the start_date, so that's the opposite of what I would expect. But I have my end_date in cell B2, and then I'll type a comma, and the start_date is in A2. See it's 107 days from the formula preview, press Enter, and I do get 107 days between September 14, 2017…
