In this video, staff author Jess Stratton shows you how to find files that other users have shared with you. Learn how to sync those files to the desktop.
- [Instructor] This video is all about working with files…and finding files that other people have shared with you.…In the last video I showed you how you can invite somebody…to share your file and send a message via email.…This is what the other end of that email looks like.…Here's an email that tells me that somebody shared…an Excel file with me.…I can click the blue open button and it's going to…take me directly to that file.…I can preview it and close out it by closing…out of my browser tab.…
From here it's okay if I delete this email, I don't need it.…If I ever need to find that file I can go back to…Google Drive and it's over here in the left hand side…in the Shared With Me section.…Any file that somebody shares with you will be found…inside this special view.…I can see who shared it and when they shared it.…It's important to note that if you've installed…a desktop version of Google Drive on your Mac or PC…anything that's in this Shared With Me section…is not going to automatically sync.…
Right now it's in the Shared With Me section…
