What to expect from this course

- [Instructor] So with all that said, before we get started, I do want to go into a little more detail about what you should expect from this course. The Firebase universe is pretty huge. Maybe not quite as huge as, say, the Amazon Web Services universe, but nonetheless, covering every single one of the aspects of Firebase in a single course would be a pretty huge task, and for this reason, that's not really what I've tried to do in this course. My intention for this course is to give you a good, thorough hands-on introduction to Firebase in the context of a real world application, and this is a pretty important point. If you take a look at Firebases docs, you'll see that they've documented the functionality of the various tools extensively. However, one thing you won't find there is a thorough, realistic, deep dive that walks you step by step through exactly what it's like to incorporate Firebase into an actual application, and that's exactly what I hope to do in this course. So, as I mentioned already, what we're going to be doing in this course is starting off with a preexisting front end application built in React. This application currently has absolutely no backend whatsoever. In this course, we'll be seeing how to turn this front end code into a fully functional, full stack application using some of the many tools that Firebase provides such as Firebase auth, Firestore and cloud storage. By the end of this course, you'll have a fully functioning application that you can use as a reference point for creating other projects. All of this will give you the necessary experience and context to incorporate Firebase into your own applications, that is, if you choose to do so, and with that, let's get started.
