- [Instructor] Google Cloud Storage is a service that allows you to store your objects in the Google Cloud platform. There are a couple of key vocabulary terms you must first grasp to fully understand how your data is stored in the platform. Those terms are knowing what an object is, knowing what a bucket is, knowing about projects and knowing about organizations. Fortunately, we already covered projects and organizations in the identity and access management section of this course, so we just need to cover objects and buckets. Objects are defined as an immutable piece of data consisting of a file of any format. In simple words, objects are a piece of data that you have uploaded to cloud storage. For example, a Word document, a PowerPoint file, a media file such as a music track or a video, or even a picture.
